Our science

Beauty
meets science.

Longevity science moves quickly, and it is easy to overstate it. For each area we work in, we set out what is well established, what is still emerging, and exactly what we claim about our products.

Cellular wellness

Every tissue in the body, skin included, is built from cells that constantly use energy to maintain and repair themselves.

What's establishedBroad scientific agreement
Cells depend on a steady supply of energy and on housekeeping processes that clear out damaged components. These processes are influenced by sleep, nutrition, physical activity and age.
What's emergingActive research, not yet conclusive
Researchers are studying how specific molecules, including NAD+ and Urolithin A, relate to these maintenance processes, and whether supporting them through diet or supplementation makes a measurable difference to how people feel and function.
What this means for AEVUMWhat we do and don't claim
AEVUM products are dietary supplements designed to complement a healthy lifestyle. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and they do not reverse ageing.

NAD+ metabolism

NAD+ is a coenzyme present in every living cell. The body makes it from several building blocks, including NMN.

What's establishedBroad scientific agreement
NAD+ is essential to the reactions that release energy from food. It cycles between NAD+ and NADH as it carries electrons, and it is used by enzymes involved in DNA repair and cell signalling.
What's emergingActive research, not yet conclusive
Studies, mostly in animals, suggest NAD+ levels decline in some tissues with age. Small human trials show that precursors such as NMN can raise NAD+ in the blood. What that means for long-term health is not yet known.
What this means for AEVUMWhat we do and don't claim
AEVUM NAD+ and AEVUM NMN are formulated around these molecules. We will publish full formulation details and any product-specific evidence as it becomes available.

Mitochondrial health

Mitochondria are the structures inside cells that produce most of their usable energy.

What's establishedBroad scientific agreement
Cells continually remove worn-out mitochondria and replace them, a recycling process called mitophagy. Exercise is one of the best-known ways to support mitochondrial health.
What's emergingActive research, not yet conclusive
Urolithin A, produced by gut bacteria from foods like pomegranate, has been shown in laboratory studies to activate mitophagy. Early human studies have explored its effects on muscle, and research is ongoing.
What this means for AEVUMWhat we do and don't claim
AEVUM Urolithin A provides the compound directly, so it doesn't depend on your gut microbiome's ability to make it. It is intended to complement, not replace, regular movement and a varied diet.

We will never claim that a supplement reverses ageing, prevents disease or guarantees a longer life. We will share product-specific evidence only when it exists.
